Also you could attach an image from your phone or tablet when posting on a mobile device. Posted: 11 Mar Last edited by Hitachi on 11 Mar ; edited 1 time in total.
TheBlacksmith Chief Commissioner. Location: Ankh Morpork. I am probably pre-empting the response from Michael on this, but doing what you ask requires Railpage to store all the images and media files, and this would be a very expensive process. Using Flickr and then providing a link is a simple way to place the burden of storage on sites designed for this purpose. Having administered several forums where it is you that pays for the hosting, I would never allow media to be stored on the site as the storage task can very easily get out of control.
It is extremely difficult to control the content that is placed on the site as well, so it increases the burden of work for administrators in vetting the material. Can't see it happening. Posted: 11 Mar Location: Western Sydney, AU. So how hard is it to copy paste a link, again?
Location: Lurking. This depends on how the data is stored. Storage is really quite cheap these days. It is very inexpensive compared to 10 years ago. There are other ways to store data these days. There are gallery and media systems which store and catalogue images and video. Has this been considered? This is on of the only rail forums I use which does not have a gallery function.
It used to have a good one which was removed. How could it get out of control? It is up to the individual user to manage their own collection. This is the same for flickr and picassa.
Railpage would be no different. This is happening everyday guys across ther globe on many other forums. I consider this site to be far better run and administrated than most including many of the facebook groups I have seen which can be a right royal mess most of the time.
Administrators or moderators already have to vet material posted. X'TrapolisM Deputy Commissioner. Location: Melbourne. How do you control the amount of material uploaded to the site? Storage is cheap? Railpage runs on donations and the generosity of those who own and maintain it, but this does not mean they have deep pockets.
As for administering it, these days the site is held responsible for any material stored on it, just like Youtube, so any material posted there by a member is subject to the same rules with regard to intellectual property, and monitoring that facet alone is way too much work for volunteer administrators. You mention Facebook? You are aware that FB is a multi-zillion dollar worldwide business that employs ten of thousand employees to look after it, while Railpage is purely voluntary?
This is not bodybuliding. Use imgur like me! Location: At the back of the train, quitely doing exactly what you'd expect. Wastes storage. What is a waste of storage? I think you guys need to think a little more deeply. When it comes to posting images on facebook the process is far smoother and intuitive than it is here. I do not run the site granted but I should not be deterred from having a view. Beware the power and longevity of screenshots! Christian Porter has withdrawn his high-stakes defamation action against the ABC after the public broadcaster conceded historical rape allegations against him could not be substantiated.
The former attorney-general is believed to have received a payout from the ABC towards his substantial legal costs but the terms of the settlement have not been released. The ABC said in a statement no damages had been paid. Posted: 31 May Last edited by bevans on 31 May ; edited 1 time in total. Location: Half way between Propodolla and Kinimakatka. Posted: 31 May Apparently suppression orders were coming off on Wednesday if the court case went ahead.
And his press conference was apparently all bulldust and bluster. As I commented on 15 March on this forum:- "I'll be very surprised if it actually goes to trial. I think it's a display of 'attack is the best form of defence. Location: Somewhere you're not. So, this basically means that his career is now in tatters isn't it?? Greensleeves Chief Commissioner. Location: If it isn't obvious by now, it should be.
All parties have agreed to not pursue the matter any further. No damages will be paid. Key points: Christian Porter launched defamation action against the ABC following a story about an unnamed cabinet minister being accused of a historical alleged rape He and the ABC have been in mediation in recent days The ABC says it stands by the importance of the article but Mr Porter says it is a "humiliating backdown" by the public broadcaster Sounds like they're not footing any of his legal bills by this.
One would think that the nation's Attorney General would have known that the chances of this case ever succeeding were very, very slim. If he didn't then what does that say about his competency?
The "humiliating backdown" is Porter's. He instituted the action; now he's quit. Select gen0. Then select gen1. Please post the console output. Thanks for testing and sorry about my delayed reply. So the camera doesn't seem to use a gen0 or gen1 firmware image. I have two more files to test. Please repeat the process described above with this zip file: gen2. I tried once more without choosing an option. In this situation the msg "No devices found.
Ensure your camera is connected. Same result as with HDD. I don't think the USB mode is the issue. It really seems that this camera is using different firmware encryption keys. I'll have to think about whether it is viable to brute force the complete firmware image In my eyes it is not a very big problem.
As you stated, the cam was announced AND my model offers at least English as menu language, which is already a big thing compared with Japanese only. It should be possible to dump the firmware of these unsupported cameras using this mode.
If you want to help, here is what you can try:. Nice, that's good progress! Can you try this instead? My next step is to create custom firmware file, so we are able to use updatershell which has more functionality than serviceshell, at least for now. For that, we need the model id, which is stored on nflasha1. So let's try to dump this partition. Hey ma1co, I tried gaining a service shell but it said access denied and now it says there are no sony devices anymore even though I am connected to my camera.
Hey gkln, any idea why my camera does not want to connect? See the post before your post for details. You can press enter to get a new console prompt. The environment seems to be quite a bit different from my NEX Can you try this?
Can you share the steps that you have taken and the exact output that you got? Thank you very much for your help so far, we are already a lot closer to supporting these cameras! Oh, here we go: 0x The battery is attached to your camera. Remove the battery. So Sony wants the AC adapter, but not the battery. We are not trying to update the firmware here. We just need the firmware update mode to execute code. This won't touch the installed firmware.
The only thing that could happen is that Sony decides to wipe all your settings perform a factory reset. We had that in the past, and it seems to happen to most applications packaged with PyInstaller. It is clearly a false positive, the source code is open and the binary is built directly on our CI provider AppVeyor, so there is no way there could be a virus in there.
I have submitted a false positive report to Microsoft and I hope that they will fix this as soon as possible. The most similar camera that I could find which has a firmware update is the NX5.
This will definitely clear all settings, but it might also switch to updater mode. Ok, we really seem to hit every possible problem You are doing everything right, but it seems that the USB connection is a bit unreliable. Can you try the same procedure a few more times? You can also run the bootloader and bootrom commands without running pull first. Does the camera start up normally if you disconnect and reconnect power? Oh, the bootrom command is not supported in v0. The boot1 file looks good, thank you for uploading.
Could you give nflasha another try? It should be about MiB. This paper presents a new method for calculating a rational transfer function matrix using a Walsh expansion of the impulse response matrix. The algorithm proposed appears to be computationally convenient owing to certain properties of the Walsh functions. An example is given to illustrate the method. Continue with Facebook.
