The writing definitely needed some work but, it was a pretty reasonable novel. When Summer Ends was actually a pretty big eBook. Glad I read this! When Ch I actually really enjoyed this!
Later that night, Will asks Chloe on a date and she happily accepts. Over the holidays, Chloe and Will spend plenty of time together; getting to know each other, flirting, talking and, yes, making out! But at school, the news of a hot new calculus teacher has the female student body buzzing. Chloe is unfazed because she already has a hot, attentive, loyal boyfriend; so imagine her and his! From there onwards everything between the two of them is like a rollercoaster; up and down.
When there finally is balance between their lives, what could possibly go wrong? Even though I enjoyed this book, there were some bits that annoyed me. The similarities with Slammed , was definitely one of the top issues.
The main male character was called Will, as was the main male character in Slammed. The story line was very similar, too. It was a different story, but there were still some obvious similarities. The grammar, punctuation and editing was the other issue I had; it was terrible. My best friend, Georgie, could do it in her sleep! It was, in a word, shocking. Because of that I found myself not liking the book as much because I had to constantly stop and re-read the sentence, mentally correct it and try to understand it.
I thought Chloe was an ok character. She was a little bit weak at times, though she occasionally proved tough. It was confusing. Chloe was a meh character. Will was also a meh character. I liked him mostly at first, but when the student-teacher relationship was revealed, what he did to Chloe pissed me off. And he was rude and selfish, too. I liked him more and more after the paintball thing. But yeah, Will, too, unfortunately, was a meh character.
The storyline, although not original, was interesting. Overall, the book was enjoyable and I really had no problems with it other than grammar, oh my god. Now, I will say when Sam and Chloe came up with the scheme things turned around. I loved the genius idea. Hell, I just loved Sam. It could have been shortened a ton. I found myself skimming parts because they just weren't important, in my opinion.
I loved all of Will's date ideas. So sweet. I loved Will at times, then there were times when I thought he was immature. Play martyr much, Will? If you are in a forbidden affair you need to be smart not kissing in the classroom or constantly asking her to stay after class. Oh and speaking of Will, his parents didn't care that she was 17 and in HS? I find that hard to believe.

Long enough to know how old each other are, yet not long enough to fall deeply in love with one another, unable to detach themselves from the love that they share. The end, also was extremely predictable, obviously written by a younger writer who has the idea that Chloe is herself and the whole outcome of this situation turns out well.

When Summer Ends has the overall same story line to Slammed , but not as good as Slammed. As many reviewers have complained, there were a lot of fillers. At times, I was just skimming paragraphs, because Rae would just repeat something I already knew.
Why does Chloe have to be 17? I tried to get over the fact, what Will and Chloe were doing was very illegal. Yes, there was tension between Chloe and Will, but sometimes I felt like the story was falling flat. How stupid are you? When Chloe started o date Ollie even though she has zero feelings for Ollie , just to get over Will, I wanted to drop the book and just scream.
I hate people like that in books and real life. So it was hard for me to like Will because I did, despite my rant. Also, I was confused on the target audience. I know this a Young Adult Read, but was it for the 12 to 14 year olds or the year olds? There were some steamy scenes, but it would fall flat, like you were being teased throughout the book.

I really liked both characters especially Will, he is sweet, sexy, kind, funny and adorable. Chloe is very mature when dealing with the obstacles that are put in her way. There where also some cracking one liners usually given by Wills smart ass brother Sam he was a great secondary character, loved him. The epilogue was amazing with all characters included which I liked all lose ends tied together As I said at the start I felt the pace of the book let it down for me.

Will smirked at me which made me giggle or something as my mouth watered. Then I made a date with another boy and held his hand which made Will frown for some reason. Boys are such a mystery or something. I thought about what a mystery they are and giggled again. Unfortunately another student saw us kissing and reported us to the principal.
After talking to me for two minutes the principal said yep that argument checks out, investigation over. Sorry for bothering you or something please carry on. And we all giggled happily ever after. It wasn't bad I mean, really? Like, he broke up with her, then he was nice to her and she resented that, but he was also sticking his nose in her business all the time; is Chloe with a guy in the hallway?
